The office of Rep. LaMonica McIver is seeking a creative, ambitious Communications Assistant.

Grow, shape, and manage Rep. McIver’s digital presence by developing engaging content for social media, identifying new storytelling opportunities, and managing day-to-day social media operations ensuring timely, relevant content. Draft and edit press releases, speeches, and talking points. Design digital content including graphics, photos, and videos to communicate key messages and legislative priorities. Maintain and update the Congresswoman’s website, ensuring timely and relevant information is posted. Draft and send owned communications (newsletters, updates, etc.) to constituents, keeping them informed about Congresswoman’s work and priorities. Work collaboratively with the district office to ensure a strong local media and digital presence, and support outreach efforts. Assist in press outreach and handling of media inquiries. Other duties as assigned.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content. Strong knowledge of social media platforms, website management, and digital marketing tools. Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage and prioritize a variety of assignments at one time. Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all communications. Experience with graphic design and video production tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) preferred. Demonstrated curiosity, creativity, and willingness to learn. We value strong instincts, initiative, and good judgment as much as prior experience. New Jersey ties and previous Hill experience are a plus.
