The Office of Congressman Donald G. Davis seeks a Staff Assistant for his Rocky Mount district office.

Managing the front office: answering phones, greeting visitors, and providing a welcoming, professional first impression for every constituent. Intaking casework requests and routing them to the appropriate caseworker; logging constituent opinions and tracking follow-up. Processing incoming and outgoing mail and drafting form and individual responses to constituent correspondence in coordination with district and DC staff. Supporting district events, town halls, and mobile office hours, including occasional staffing of the Congressman at community functions. Coordinating the district internship program, including recruitment, onboarding, daily supervision, and school documentation. Assisting local organizations with information about federal grant opportunities and notifications as directed by senior staff. Providing general administrative support to the District Director and other district staff, and performing other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to public service, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and a customer-service mindset. Applicants should be able to handle competing demands in a fast-paced environment, exercise sound judgment and discretion with sensitive constituent information, and work both independently and as part of a close-knit team. A bachelor's degree is required. Prior administrative, customer service, or government experience is preferred. A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation are required for travel within the district. Ties to the First Congressional District is strongly preferred.
