Description:
Rep. Mike Levin seeks a temporary Caseworker based in his district office to
advocate with federal agencies on behalf of his constituents. This position is based in Carlsbad
and will end on August 1st, with the possibility of extension through the end of 2026.
Responsibilities:
The Caseworker works with Rep. Levin’s Director of Constituent Services to intake cases from constituents who have business before a federal agency, strategize about how best to help the constituent reach their desired outcome, and then execute that strategy.
• Serve as a representative of Rep. Levin while assisting constituents who need help
with a federal agency.
• Work with Director of Constituent Services and District Director to execute
responsibilities.
• Quickly respond to incoming casework inquiries and conduct casework intake
process.
• Act as a liaison with federal agencies regarding assigned caseload and work to
secure positive outcomes for constituents.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with constituents through phone calls,
written correspondence, and in-person meetings.
• Monitor and update the Director of Constituent Services and District Director on
casework trends and prepare reports on constituent issues and needs.
• Monitor and refer cases, when appropriate, to other government entities. • Maintain accurate and complete files of casework and constituent communications
in Intranet Quorum.
• Coordinate outreach efforts, including community events, to engage with
constituents and gather feedback on local issues.
Qualifications:
Successful applicants should have a basic knowledge of federal agencies
and California’s 49th Congressional district. Applicants should have a service-oriented
attitude, strong organizational skills, proficiency at prioritizing and managing multiple
projects at one time, a capacity to work both independently and as part of a team, and
strong written and oral communications skills. Preference may be given to residents of the
