Description:
Director of Engagement and External AffairsSupport and guide external affairs and activities, Grow the visibility and impact of the Foundation in Virginia, Serve as spokesperson and advocate for the mission and initiatives of the Foundation in Virginia, Initiate and grow long-term relationships with community leaders, corporate partners, legislators, donors, and additional stakeholders, Create and implement community-based opportunities to educate and engage new constituents for the Foundation, Monitor public policy trends and media coverage to identify opportunities or risks, Work with program staff to identify and obtain funding and support for mission-driven initiatives, Perform other duties as assignedBachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience and/or training required, Proven ability to develop and implement strategic, metric-driven engagement plans, Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling, mission-driven narratives, Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with dedicated team, Exceptional planning and organizational skills, Experience with nonprofit organizations or similar work environment, Enthusiasm for the mission-driven work of the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience and/or training required
