Description:
The Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan DC (TLA-DC) seeks a Legislative Director to serve as a senior advocacy leader advancing and protecting the civil justice system in the District of Columbia.Lead TLA-DC’s legislative strategy before the DC Council and other local decision-makers. Advocate for laws and policies that protect the civil justice system and injured people.Substantial experience navigating the Wilson Building as a staffer or lobbyist is required.
Responsibilities:
• Lead TLA-DC’s legislative strategy before the DC Council and other local decision-makers.
• Advocate for laws and policies that protect the civil justice system and injured people.
• Track legislation at all stages and engage directly with elected officials and staff.
• Support and expand member participation in legislative advocacy.
• Coordinate testimony, written advocacy, and coalition engagement.
Qualifications:
• Substantial experience navigating the Wilson Building as a staffer or lobbyist is required.
