Description:
At Duke Health, we’re driven by a commitment to compassionate care that changes the lives of patients, their loved ones, and the greater community.Plan, coordinate, and implement a comprehensive, proactive program to build relationships with local government officials, key governmental staff contacts, and local businesses and leaders, as well as advocate for the Duke University Health System’s (DUHS) position on municipal and county issues in Duke’s service areas.Bachelor’s degree program, 5 years of experience in local government, including 1 year of experience in a hospital setting.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and implement a comprehensive, diversified local government relations program • Monitor local government actions and policies that affect the health system and its missions • Develop strategies with the Assistant Vice President for Duke State Relations and Vice President for Duke Health Government Relations • Serve as the point of contact to educate and advocate with local government officials and community leaders • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders • Represent the office in internal and external forums
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree program • 5 years of experience in local government, including 1 year of experience in a hospital setting
