Description:
Technical Policy and Risk Analyst IIIResearch, evaluate, and determine the impact of emerging technologies on established security practices. Update technical security policies and recommend appropriate countermeasures to address evolving threats.Bachelor’s degree in security studies, management studies, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Responsibilities:
• Research, evaluate, and determine the impact of emerging technologies on established security practices.
• Update technical security policies and recommend appropriate countermeasures to address evolving threats.
• Oversee working groups to develop mitigation strategies and standard operating procedures.
• Advise senior agency security managers and program officials on the implications of new technologies for the protection of people, facilities, and information.
• Participate in Department and interagency policy development working groups.
• Represent the Office of Security Technology (ST) or the Office of Technology Innovation and Engineering (TIE) during the review and generation of Department of State policy, Foreign Affairs Manuals (FAM), and Foreign Affairs Handbooks (FAH).
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in security studies, management studies, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Ability to understand and explain Intelligence Community standards, Overseas Security Policy Board (OSPB) technical and physical security standards, and agency regulations.
• Ability to interact with groups and individuals outside own organization and participate in interagency working groups.
• Strong written, electronic, and verbal communication skills, including technical and report writing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft O365 products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
• Demonstrated experience working with data throughout its lifecycle, including collection, management, analysis, reporting, and secure disposition.
