Description:
Rep. Jim McGovern (MA-02) is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Legislative Correspondent to join his fast-paced, high-energy Washington, DC team.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the constituent management system, which includes monitoring the flow of incoming and outgoing mail and responding to both form and individual letters in a timely manner. Research and draft constituent mail responses with attention to detail to ensure clear and accurate communication across all issue areas. Manage the DC intern program, including interviewing, hiring, training, and supervising interns. Serve as public-facing tour coordinator, including arranging Capitol and White House tours, and welcoming constituents to DC. Assist the legislative team and the DC Office with administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Excellent writing, editing, and multi-tasking skills. Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills. Sharp attention to detail and organization. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Experience with Fireside database preferred. Previous Hill experience preferred. Knowledge of or ties to the 2nd Congressional District or Massachusetts are a plus.
