The Committee on Energy and Commerce Democratic staff seeks a Policy Assistant to
join the Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade Subcommittee.
Responsibilities:
• Assist subcommittee staff with preparation for committee activity including witness
interviews and preparation, member outreach and consultation, document
organization, drafting member remarks, and other duties, as necessary.
• Assist subcommittee staff on stakeholder engagement, including taking meetings
with a wide variety of stakeholders.
• Assist subcommittee staff on a wide range of projects, including drafting legislation
and legislative research.
• Assist subcommittee staff on liaising with agency staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of policy experience. Excellent writing, verbal, and organization skills, a high attention to detail, and a solid understanding of the legislative process are essential attributes. Additionally, the ability to thrive under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and manage multiple priorities are key. This is not an entry-level position.
