Description:
The Committee on Energy and Commerce Democratic Staff are seeking an experienced Professional Staff Member or Counsel to work on environmental issues within the Committee’s jurisdiction.
Responsibilities:
Serving as the subject matter expert and advisor on specific environmental policy issues; Developing, drafting, analyzing, and providing guidance and feedback on legislation and environmental policy; Working with other offices and relevant stakeholders on issues within the portfolio; Collaborating closely with other Energy & Commerce staff on additional policy and oversight areas within the Committee’s jurisdiction; Drafting memos, letters, talking points, questions, messaging materials, and other written materials for use by the Committee and Ranking Member; and Staffing hearings, markups, floor debate, and providing environmental policy support to the Ranking Member, Committee Members, and Democratic Caucus.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills, a proven ability to perform under pressure while juggling multiple tasks, and sound political judgment. Prior Hill or Administration experience is preferred.
