Description:
The Office of Congressman Brad Schneider seeks an experienced Scheduler to join a fast-paced and dynamic team in the Washington, D.C. office.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate scheduling requests and manage the Congressman's calendar, resolving conflicts and making last-minute changes as needed Coordinate all travel arrangements, including booking flights and lodging, for the Member Review all schedules, logistics, and briefs for accuracy and clarity; supervise compilation of daily briefing materials, coordinating with legislative and press staff on materials needed for meetings and events Work across departments — Member staff, Committee staff, Leadership offices, the White House, and federal agencies — as a liaison alongside the Chief of Staff, gathering input on scheduling priorities Coordinate with New Democrat Coalition staff to integrate NDC-related meetings, events, and priorities into the daily and long-term schedule Oversee and manage the District Scheduler and coordinate with district staff on district events and travel Work collaboratively with outside groups on meetings and speaking arrangements Manage the Staff Assistant and front office, including supervising the D.C. internship program Assist the Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, and Legislative Director with D.C. office operations Handle other duties and special projects as directed Maintains a good working relationship with the Member, staff and constituents Accepts performance-based criticism and direction Meets attendance requirements as established by the office Works well under pressure and handles stress Works a flexible schedule including long hours, nights, and weekends
Qualifications:
Attention to detail and strong problem-solving and organizational skills Strong written and verbal communication skills; confident and professional in dealing with Member staff and outside stakeholders Sound judgment and the ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment Demonstrated time management skills and comfort balancing multiple responsibilities under pressure Effective teamwork skills and the ability to support the needs of multiple team members and leaders in the office Professional demeanor and upbeat disposition with visitors, staff, and stakeholders Deep commitment to improving constituents' lives
