Description:
Congressman Gregory Meeks seeks an innovative communications leader and digital strategist capable of adapting and executing a media strategy that responds to the moment.
Responsibilities:
Collaborates closely with the Deputy Chief of Staff on crafting cohesive and engaging messaging across platforms; Develops and implements media, communications, public relations, and social media strategies; Drafts regular commentary and op-eds for local news outlets on important subject matter and current events; Develops and executes press conferences and public events; Oversees the creation and distribution of the Congressman’s newsletters and press releases, and produces franked communications; Coordinates with the House Foreign Affairs Committee communications team regularly;
Qualifications:
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills; Strong communication skills; Understanding of local and national news outlets; Thorough knowledge of the legislative process, procedures and organization of the House; Fluent in video and graphic editing software.
