Description:
The Office of Congressman Don Davis (NC-01) is seeking a District Press Secretary/Digital Manager to join a fast-paced, collaborative communications team serving one of the most rural and agriculturally vital districts in the country.
Responsibilities:
Developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy that promotes the Member's priorities; drafting press releases, advisories, talking points, op-eds, speeches, and digital content; managing all social media channels and web content; producing original photo and video content that reflects the district; monitoring news coverage and anticipating press inquiries; preparing the Member for interviews and public appearances; building relationships with local and national reporters; overseeing the Member's newsletter and questionnaires; and managing the Franking program.
Qualifications:
At least two years of professional communications experience; strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills; proficiency in graphic design, photography, and videography; a sharp eye for social media content that resonates with a rural audience; knowledge of the legislative process and the organization of the House; and the ability to juggle multiple priorities under tight deadlines, including a flexible schedule that entails nights and weekends.
