Description:
Congressman Garamendi (CA-08) seeks a Legislative Assistant to join the legislative team in his Washington, D.C. office.
Responsibilities:
Advancing the Member's legislative priorities by drafting legislation, letters, memos, and talking points; researching and advising the Member on policy issues; making vote recommendations; maintaining constructive relationships with constituents, advocacy groups, and key stakeholders to include working closely with the district team; staffing the Member in relevant meetings within the issue portfolio; supporting the work of the communications team; and other tasks as required.
Qualifications:
Prior hill experience, extensive legislative or policy experience working on the referenced portfolios, a history of working as part of a team, and a demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders to achieve intended outcomes.
