Description:
Representative Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06) seeks a Senior Legislative Assistant for her Washington, DC team. The portfolio includes agriculture, energy and environment, transportation and infrastructure, financial services, small business, manufacturing, taxes, and housing policy. It also will cover the Congresswoman’s high priority BIOtech caucus so background and interest in this area is a plus.
Responsibilities:
This individual is responsible for working with the Legislative Director to formulate and advance the member’s policy priorities, working closely with the district team to integrate local stakeholder input into the legislative process, briefing the member before hearings and meetings, helping draft releases, speeches, and letters, and generally working with other members of a highly-collaborative, high-performing staff to help deliver for our constituents and our community (which is our #1 priority).
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate communicates well, is good at solving problems, is responsive to internal and external stakeholders, is good at building relationships within the Democratic caucus and across the aisle, can long-term plan even when the Hill is chaos, can manage the chaos that is working in the House, and has a sense of humor. PA ties are a plus!
