Description:
Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) seeks an experienced, full-time Legislative Assistant for his Washington, D.C. office.
Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities Collaborate closely with the Legislative Director to develop, advance, and execute legislative and policy initiatives within assigned issue areas Monitor legislation, hearings, regulatory actions, and floor activity; track policy developments and identify strategic opportunities Draft legislative language, policy memos, vote recommendations, talking points, correspondence, and other written materials Prepare comprehensive briefing materials for hearings, markups, votes, district engagements, and external meetings Prepare the Member for briefings, committee activity, stakeholder meetings, and public events Represent the office in meetings with constituents, advocacy organizations, stakeholders, coalition partners, and government officials Partner with communications staff to contribute to speeches, press releases, op-eds, digital content, and other external messaging
Qualifications:
Prior legislative and/or Capitol Hill experience required Pennsylvania connections will be looked favorably upon but are not required Strong understanding of the legislative process, congressional procedure, and federal regulatory frameworks Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills Demonstrated ability to manage multiple issue areas in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work Proven relationship-building skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners Flexible, adaptable, and responsive to evolving priorities Commitment to fostering teamwork, professionalism, and a positive office culture Demonstrated commitment to public service and continuous professional growth
