Description:
The Office of U.S. Representative Don Davis (NC-01) is hiring a Legislative Correspondent in our Washington, D.C. office.
Responsibilities:
Managing the office's constituent correspondence system; interacting with constituents with professionalism and responsiveness; researching and drafting constituent correspondence on a wide range of legislative and policy issues; working with the Staff Assistant to monitor and maintain the constituent correspondence database; and managing intern correspondence assignments. Additional responsibilities include researching legislative issues, coordinating with legislative staff to ensure timely responses on policy matters, supporting proactive constituent outreach efforts across the district, and performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Strong writing, research, and organizational skills are required, along with the ability to manage and respond to a high volume of constituent mail on politically sensitive topics in an evenly divided congressional district. Familiarity with or ties to eastern North Carolina or North Carolina's First Congressional District are a plus but not required.
