Description:
The Office of Congresswoman Luz Rivas (CA-29) is seeking a hardworking, organized, and reliable Field Representative/Grants Coordinator based in the San Fernando Valley in a full-time capacity.
Responsibilities:
Building and maintaining positive relationships with constituents, key community leaders and other stakeholders in the southern portion of the Congressional District. Monitoring and updating the District Director and relevant staff on important local issues, emerging trends and critical developments. Attending events as the Member's representative and staffing the Member, as determined by the District Director. Overseeing the Federal Grants Program which will develop, distribute and maintain monthly grant updates for stakeholders, and promote key successes within the community. Planning and implementing a strong constituency-based outreach program by planning and executing successful grant workshops, drafting letters of support and outreach materials, and monitoring/notifying grant awards in the community.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidate must possess time management skills and the ability to multitask with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to work under pressure and a strong commitment to public service. Ability to think strategically and creatively to execute a proactive and informative outreach program.
