Description:
As Digital Marketing Director (US) you will lead our US marketing strategy, making sure our campaigns are not just seen, but felt. You’ll build and run high-impact digital, email and paid media programs that mobilize supporters, grow audiences, and put Slingshot in front of the people who can shift this fight. You’ll work closely with our global team, but with the autonomy to localize and innovate for the US context – ensuring every piece of content, every email and every ad campaign resonates, drives action, and delivers ambitious, measurable outcomes. You will know how to leverage cultural moments that help to seed marketing narratives among targeted audiences, and influence them to act. In this role you will manage a Digital Marketing & Social Media Manager to help drive engagement across our marketing and social activities in support of our campaign efforts. This is a remote position based in the US.
Responsibilities:
• Digital strategy & execution • Design and implement bold, high-impact digital and social media strategies tailored to US audiences, reaching diverse and varied communities. • Drive paid media campaigns (primarily META and other key platforms), ensuring ROI and audience growth. • Use data, testing and insights to evolve strategies and stay ahead of trends. • Localize global campaign moments for the US market without losing the force of the original idea. • Own the US marketing calendar and make sure it lines up with campaign and creative plans. • Email & CRM • Lead segmented email marketing campaigns that drive engagement, action and donor conversion. • Build automations and journeys that nurture supporters through the funnel. • Constantly refine audience segmentation and personalization. • Partner with fundraising to make sure marketing and giving journeys reinforce each other. • Content & storytelling
Qualifications:
• We’d love someone who: • Has significant experience in digital marketing, campaign strategy or movement-building – ideally with a cause-driven brand or a bold advocacy group. • Is deeply familiar with social justice messaging, digital organizing and content-led engagement strategies. • Has led teams and knows how to develop teams to deliver results. • Has proven success in social media, paid ads and email/CRM strategies. • Knows META Ads Manager, email marketing platforms (e.g. GetResponse, Mailchimp, Campaign Monitor or similar), analytics tools and automation systems in depth. • Is skilled at using audience insights to craft strategies that inspire action. • Writes strong copy, with a knack for storytelling that is bold, disruptive and emotionally compelling. • Has a track record of driving audience growth and measurable impact. • Is data-driven, experimental, and never satisfied with “good enough”. • Brings knowledge or experience of farmed animal advocacy, broader animal protection, or high-profile nonprofit campaigning – with the ability to translate complex issues into powerful, public-facing narratives. • Is passionate about Project Slingshot’s mission and hungry to play a part in ending factory farming.
