Description:
Sick Cells is hiring an Advocacy and Stakeholder Engagement Manager to join its team.Lead community engagement efforts related to Medicaid and payer engagement.Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of relevant work experience.
Responsibilities:
• Stakeholder relationships — Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including state Medicaid agencies, healthcare providers, community organizations, and payers.
• Medicaid–payer collaboration — Strengthen collaboration between Medicaid programs and payers to improve access to innovative SCD therapies.
• Representation at meetings — Represent Sick Cells at consumer-facing meetings, including Prescription Drug Affordability Boards.
• Ambassador coordination — Recruit, train, and coordinate patient ambassadors for DURB Board testimony.
• Medicaid policy tracking — Manage and maintain the national 50-State Medicaid Legislative & Policy Landscape, including DURB calendars, decisions, and SCD therapeutic reviews.
• Briefing materials — Develop high-quality briefing materials, talking points, and state-specific policy summaries.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience or familiarity with patient advocacy and state healthcare policy.
• Understanding of Medicaid, prior authorization, and DUR processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Demonstrated experience writing across formats, including reports, presentations, and plain-language summaries.
