Description:
E2 Senior Manager of Media and Strategic Communications plays a critical part in advancing E2’s mission by making the business and economic case for clean energy and climate action — amplifying the voices of business leaders, entrepreneurs, and other trusted messengers across media platforms.Strategic Communications & Campaigns, Media Relations, Storytelling & Messenger Development, Digital & Internal Communications, Partnership & CollaborationBachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field. Minimum 4–7 years of experience in journalism, advocacy, business and/or policy communications, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely and collaboratively with E2 staff to develop and execute strategic, nonpartisan communications campaigns to support E2’s federal and state policy priorities. • Identify and pursue opportunities to advance advocacy goals through press, opinion pieces, reports, social media, and other communications products. • Collaborate across internal teams and with external partners to ensure consistent, high‑impact messaging. • Serve as E2’s primary media contact. • Build and maintain strong relationships with business, political, and environmental reporters at national and regional outlets. • Pitch stories, respond to media inquiries, prepare briefing materials, and support rapid‑response communications as needed.
Qualifications:
• Excellent writing and communication skills across all formats and audiences. • Proven ability and demeanor to collaborate effectively and build relationships with team members, partners, and external stakeholders. • Deep proficiency in social media strategy and tactics that appeal to both Republicans and Democrats. • Experience developing and managing strategic, multi‑faceted communications campaigns. • Experience leading collaborative communications efforts with internal and external partner groups. • Experience working with businesses and businesspeople.
