Description:
CFR’s Government Affairs operation is focused on actively engaging members of Congress and their staff, executive branch officials, and Washington, DC-based diplomats to provide timely, relevant, and useful analysis to further inform policymaking.Organize logistics for weekly roundtable meetings with congressional staff, coordinate dinner programming for bi-monthly events with senior congressional staff, draft newsletters, issue briefs, and electronic outreach to promote CFR products and experts.Bachelor’s degree in international relations, government, public policy, or another related field is required. 3+ years of related experience, with some event planning experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
• Organize logistics for weekly roundtable meetings with congressional staff • Coordinate dinner programming for bi-monthly events with senior congressional staff • Draft newsletters, issue briefs, and electronic outreach to promote CFR products and experts • Track developments in international affairs on Capitol Hill • Provide support for the work and activities of the Government Affairs team
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in international relations, government, public policy, or another related field • 3+ years of related experience, with some event planning experience preferred • Congressional or government relations experience, including internships, required
