Description:
The Regulatory Attorney serves as a subject‑matter expert, collaborating with and assisting INGAA’s General Counsel.Develop policy strategies and draft regulatory filings regarding pipeline ratemaking, accounting, permitting, gas and electric reliability, and construction matters.Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school, Must be a member in good standing of a state bar association, Minimum of 4 years of relevant legal work experience.
Responsibilities:
• Develop policy strategies and draft regulatory filings regarding pipeline ratemaking, accounting, permitting, gas and electric reliability, and construction matters.
• Meet with and advocate before federal agencies and other regulatory bodies to advance INGAA’s positions on pipeline ratemaking, accounting, permitting, gas and electric reliability, and environmental construction matters.
• Analyze significant FERC orders, court orders, and pleadings and communicate impacts to members.
• Develop expertise with FERC policies and regulations.
• Research and master relevant caselaw as it pertains to pipeline rate, certificate, and environmental permitting issues.
• Coordinate responses to Legal and Rates Committee, Accounting Task Force, Gas‑Electric Task Force, and Construction Permitting & Compliance Task Force inquiries, including collating and analyzing member data.
Qualifications:
• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
• Must be a member in good standing of a state bar association.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant legal work experience.
• Energy experience is strongly desired, preferably experience with natural gas pipeline regulation and FERC.
