Description:
The Center Forward Policy Director leads the organization’s policy portfolios, which include a range of issues, among them energy, financial services, healthcare, innovation, and trade.Supervise policy staff, manage programming, track legislative successes, forecast legislative activity, monitor federal legislation, coordinate with team leads, develop policy materials, maintain situational awareness, build bipartisan relationships, represent Center Forward, align policy with strategy, support congressional programming, provide policy context for fundraising, collaborate with bipartisan groups, interpret legislative nuances.Strong communication skills, expertise in GSuite, proficiency in Microsoft Office, 5+ years of relevant experience in Capitol Hill, government affairs, policy research, or legislative work, team management experience, strong policy judgment and familiarity with congressional procedures, excellent briefing skills, ability to represent Center Forward across issue areas, bipartisan relationship-building, strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects, event conceptualization and execution, creative problem-solving, commitment to collaboration, experience with legislative tracking tools, familiarity with key policy areas (healthcare, financial services, energy, innovation, trade), understanding of Center Forward’s membership.
