Description:
Manage efforts achieving progress toward GIFFORDS’ legislative priorities in target states and serve as a liaison to elected officials, key stakeholders, and staff at the state level.Strategic legislative planning, Relationship building, Represent GIFFORDS to state allies and partners, Manage work plans for advancing GIFFORDS’ gun violence prevention priorities, Manage in-state contract lobbyists, Collaborate with colleagues to develop clear, consistent messaging, Coordinate with GIFFORDS State Initiatives and Coalitions teams, Develop strong understanding of political dynamics in target states, Coordinate with policy, research, and litigation teams, Collaborate with the Center for Violence Intervention, Monitor and report on legislative developments.Three to five years of full-time experience working with legislation, lobbying, or advocacy at local, state, or federal levels, Commitment to GIFFORDS’ mission to combat the gun violence epidemic, Ability to manage multiple programs and competing priorities, Ability to coordinate effectively with allied organizations and build partnerships, Demonstrated problem-solving skills and flexibility, Ability to travel up to 20–40%.
