Description:
The Friends Committee on National Legislation seeks a full-time Advocacy Teams Organizer to support new and prospective members of FCNL’s Advocacy Teams to develop deep advocacy skills and connect with the national network of 1,500 people already working in 135 Advocacy Teams around the country.Recruit and launch 10–20 Advocacy Teams each year, host info sessions on Zoom, support existing teams to recruit new members, and other duties that strengthen the network.Three to five years of experience in grassroots organizing on peace and justice issues, demonstrated experience in volunteer training and leadership development, public speaking and workshop facilitation.
Responsibilities:
• Meet recruitment goals to launch 10–20 teams a year in collaboration with the Senior Advocacy Teams Manager and the rest of FCNL staff
• Cultivate leads, host committees, launch workshops, and serve as backup trainers for new Advocacy Teams
• Travel to focus districts and states to build relationships, organize, and lay the groundwork for the launch of future Advocacy Teams in the area
Qualifications:
• Three to five years of experience in grassroots organizing on peace and justice issues
• Demonstrated experience in volunteer training and leadership development
• Demonstrated experience in public speaking and workshop facilitation
