Description:
U.S. Ski & Snowboard is seeking a Corporate Counsel to support its General Counsel, Associate Counsel, and Leadership Team in handling legal matters on behalf of the national governing body for Olympic and Paralympic skiing and snowboarding in the United States.Draft and/or review agreements and contracts executed by U.S. Ski & Snowboard, including independent contractor agreements, corporate sponsorship agreements, event hosting contracts, hotel agreements, vendor service agreements, and similar commercial agreements, as directed by the Legal Team.J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school, Eligible to practice law in the state of Utah as a member of the bar or eligible to become licensed in Utah, including house counsel license.
Responsibilities:
• Draft and/or review agreements and contracts executed by U.S. Ski & Snowboard • Assist with athlete agreements and tracking • Help manage the day-to-day legal activities of U.S. Ski & Snowboard • Provide guidance on policies and procedures and prepare drafts where appropriate • Work closely with the Legal Team to provide legal advice to U.S. Ski & Snowboard and related entities, and staff and volunteers, on a wide range of topics • Track and assess conflict of interest disclosures of board and key stakeholders
Qualifications:
• B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited four-year U.S. college or university • J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school • Eligible to practice law in the state of Utah as a member of the bar or eligible to become licensed in Utah, including house counsel license • Skill in problem solving and conflict resolution • Excellent correspondence and legal writing ability with highest attention to detail • Strong leadership and management skills, high personal ethical standards, and demonstrated capability to be hands-on and make difficult but timely decisions
