Description:
The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) is seeking a Manager, Federal Policy to work directly with the United States Congress, with particular focus on the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus, as well as the Executive Branch and relevant federal agencies.Analyze, track, and engage in federal legislation and regulations of interest to sportsmen and women. Build bipartisan relationships with Members of Congress, Congressional staff, and the Executive Branch to advance CSF’s mission.Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree. Preference given to candidates with degrees in wildlife biology, fisheries biology, conservation biology, or natural resource management; or candidates with degrees in public policy, political science, law, or related fields with prior experience in natural resource issues.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze, track, and engage in federal legislation and regulations of interest to sportsmen and women.
• Build bipartisan relationships with Members of Congress, Congressional staff, and the Executive Branch to advance CSF’s mission.
• Serve as a point of contact for inquiries from Members of Congress and Congressional staff, federal agencies, conservation organizations, and allied industry partners.
• Develop and implement legislative and regulatory strategies to improve conservation and opportunities for sportsmen and women.
• Work to actively advance CSF’s federal policy priorities in a collaborative, bipartisan manner.
• Lead and participate in coalitions across the sporting-conservation community, agriculture, and other sectors relevant to sportsmen and women.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and/or familiarity with the legislative process, state legislatures, Congress, governmental agencies, and sportsmen’s policy issues.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant work experience.
• Policy experience in the United States Congress, federal agencies, Executive Branch, or related field is preferred.
• Supporter of hunting, angling, recreational shooting, trapping, and professional fish and wildlife management.
• Ability to build and maintain bipartisan relationships with various stakeholder groups, elected officials, and their staff members.
