Description:
Lead service/capability-related Appropriations government relations efforts throughout the U.S. by identifying and supporting policymaking and funding opportunities that advance the objectives and successful execution of the service/capability programs of all three business units.Lead service/capability-related Appropriations government relations efforts throughout the U.S. by identifying and supporting policymaking and funding opportunities that advance the objectives and successful execution of the service/capability programs of all three business units.Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of experience.
Responsibilities:
• Lead service/capability-related Appropriations government relations efforts throughout the U.S. by identifying and supporting policymaking and funding opportunities that advance the objectives and successful execution of the service/capability programs of all three business units. • Advise the Presidents of the three RTX business units and other senior business leaders on federal legislative matters that may affect the successful execution and funding of their programs. • Develop and maintain relationships with key U.S. government customers/officials to identify opportunities of aligned interest, shape requirements, and influence laws and regulations in support of all RTX products and services. • Collaborate with the Appropriations Team Lead to enhance RTX’s presence in Washington, DC regarding assigned programs and create a national platform on which program positions, needs, and priorities can be articulated. • Provide insight, guidance, and support to RTX program managers, their direct reports, the Senior Vice President for Global Government Relations, and key company leaders on program standing related to budgetary, legislative, and regulatory matters being considered by Members of Congress, their staffs, and the Appropriations Committees. • Coordinate and integrate Appropriations legislative affairs activities with all other lobbying activities across Global Government Relations.
Qualifications:
• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of experience. • Active Top Secret Security Clearance. • Knowledge of defense legislative processes and associated funding mechanisms such as annual appropriations bills and the National Defense Authorization Act. • Previous experience working on Capitol Hill, especially on annual appropriations bills.
