Description:
Senator Edward J. Markey (D-MA), a member of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, and Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Primary Health and Retirement Security, seeks a Legislative Correspondent to cover health, education, labor, and pensions issues. Primary
Responsibilities:
include processing incoming mail and drafting outgoing constituent mail. Other
may include meeting with stakeholders, conducting research, handling a small policy portfolio, and assisting legislative staff working on issues under HELP Committee jurisdiction. A successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and highly motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Prior experience working on Capitol Hill and a public policy background are preferred. Candidates from BIPOC, LGBTQ+, working class, military, and/or other underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged
