Senator Wyden seeks a tech counsel to join the Senator’s technology policy team in Washington D.C.
Responsibilities:
include: Drafting correspondence to corporations and government agencies on technology issues, identifying new and emerging tech policy issues, meeting with constituents and stakeholders, building coalitions and assessing and drafting legislation. Candidates must be able to write well and to explain complex topics, particularly those related to technology, in plain language. Candidates must have deep knowledge of a few technology-related topics and have a working knowledge of a broad range of technology-related issues. Familiarity with the legal landscape for online platforms, online speech and artificial intelligence is preferred. Candidates must be independent, be capable of coming up with their own ideas for new projects, and identifying potential solutions to policy-related problems. The ideal candidate will have some technology-related work or policy experience, preferably related to educating the public about technology-related problems impacting our society, or pushing companies or government agencies to change their practices.
