Senator Martin Heinrich (D-NM) seeks a Constituent Services Representative based in Albuquerque or Las Cruces. This position is responsible for assisting constituents in navigating federal agencies and resolving issues related to government services.
Key
Responsibilities:
Serving as a liaison between constituents and federal agencies, advocating on behalf of individuals experiencing issues with government programs (e.g., Social Security, VA benefits, immigration, and IRS).
• Responding to constituent inquiries via phone, email, mail, and in-person meetings in a timely and professional manner.
• Managing a caseload of constituent issues, including intake, documentation, follow-up, and resolution.
• Communicating with congressional liaisons at federal agencies to research and resolve cases.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential records of all constituent interactions and casework on IQ.
• Identifying trends and recurring issues affecting constituents and brief senior staff or legislative teams as needed.
• Representing the Senator at community meetings, events, and outreach activities when required.
• Providing general information on federal programs, policies, and services.
Ideal candidates have strong attention to detail, a commitment to public service, and a background in social work. Candidates should also possess strong administrative, organizational, clerical and communications skills. Ties to New Mexico and fluency in Spanish are a significant plus. This position is required to work in the office.
