Senator Martin Heinrich (D-NM) seeks a Press Assistant based in Washington, DC for his Energy and Natural Resources Committee and Personal Office. Ties to New Mexico, an interest in energy and public lands, and/or fluency in Spanish are a significant plus. Our team is driven by a desire to make a difference for our constituents. The salary for this role is $64,500. Applications received early will be given preference.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for drafting press releases and media advisories, drafting digital communications content, compiling daily clips, updating the Ranking Member news on the Committee website, tracking media hits, maintaining the press list, taking photos of individuals with the Senator, and contributing to press strategies to advance the Senator’s efforts and activities. This position is required to work in the office.

Ideal candidates will have outstanding written and oral communication skills; be creative and proactive, highly organized; take a collaborative approach with community and colleagues; and be able to prioritize and follow through on multiple tasks simultaneously.
