Senior Republican Senator seeks Legislative Assistant in the Washington, DC office with a focus on health care and education policy.
Responsibilities:
include monitoring legislation in assigned portfolio, drafting bills and amendments, advising on legislative strategy, and preparing materials for briefings, meetings, and hearings. The role also involves frequent interaction with constituents from the Senator’s home state, as well as with stakeholders and national organizations.
This is not an entry-level position and prior Capitol Hill experience is required. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
