Description:
Senator Martin Heinrich (D-NM) seeks a Field Representative/Constituent Services Representative. The position will be based in Farmington or Gallup, but includes travel throughout the surrounding counties.
Responsibilities:
Primary duties include identifying and accomplishing community initiatives; acting as the Senator’s representative within the region; planning public meetings and events and staffing the Senator in the region; proactively building relationships with stakeholders, staying up-to-date on relevant news, and frequently interacting with constituents, community leaders, and organizations; handling a casework portfolio to assist New Mexicans with issues related to federal agencies; working with the Senator’s state, legislative and economic development staff to recommend and implement solutions to state and regional challenges with a federal nexus and to bring increased federal funding to the region. The ideal candidate has strong ties to New Mexico, a history working with local stakeholders, is an enthusiastic team player with creative drive and overall exceptional writing and communications skills. This is not an entry level position; three to five years of applicable work experience are strongly preferred. Fluency in Spanish is a significant plus.
