The Office of Senator Murphy seeks a strategic, creative, and forward-thinking Digital Director to lead and grow the Senator’s digital presence. This role will shape and execute a comprehensive digital strategy that expands the Senator’s audience, elevates his voice, and tells a compelling, cohesive story across platforms. The Digital Director leads the office’s creative team and works closely with the Senator, Communications Director, and senior staff to produce engaging content, develop partnerships with creators and new media outlets, and drive engagement in an evolving digital landscape.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities: oversee and execute the office’s aggressive digital strategy, ensuring a consistent and compelling presence across all platforms, lead rapid-response digital content in a fast-moving news environment, manage and mentor the office’s creative team, including the videographer and digital aide, providing strategic vision and direction for all digital output, collaborate closely with the creative team to produce a high volume of engaging content, including videos, graphics, animations, video scripts, and written copy tailored to various social media platforms, lead production efforts, including livestreaming events; capturing and editing photos and videos; and producing frequent, high-quality video content using professional-grade equipment, build and maintain relationships with content creators and advise on engagement with new media and nontraditional outlets, including YouTube, Substack, podcasts, and other emerging platforms, ensure timely delivery of high-quality content under tight deadlines, with strong attention to detail.
Qualifications:
Qualifications: minimum 1-2 years managing a digital media program and at least 4 years of experience developing digital content, demonstrated expertise in video production and graphic design, with advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, After Effects). Experience with photography is a plus, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong research capabilities, deep understanding of the evolving digital media landscape, particularly nontraditional political media spaces, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet demanding deadlines, willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
