Description:
U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA) seeks a lawyer or recent law school graduate for a full-time Legal Fellowship, to last up to one year, beginning in August 2026. The Fellow will support the Senator’s policy work on issues in the legal team’s portfolio, including criminal justice, gun control, reproductive rights, voting rights, privacy, prison oversight, law enforcement, antitrust, bankruptcy, and judicial and Department of Justice nominations.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include legal research, drafting legal memoranda and briefs, writing and editing oversight letters, meeting with and managing constituent relationships, advising the Senator on issues in the legal team’s portfolio, and other duties as assigned. The Fellow will work closely with and report to the Senator’s counsels.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be exceptionally strong writers, detail-oriented, self-starters, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in legislative and investigative work, such as working for an oversight committee or as a prosecutor, is a plus. Georgia ties preferred but not required. Candidates must possess a J.D. Fellows should plan to be based in or near Washington, D.C. This position is not paid, but the Office can coordinate with fellowship or external funding opportunities identified by potential Fellows.
